Everything your rescue keeps track of, in one place.
FEATURES
DASHBOARD
Open it and see what needs doing
Fostify opens on your rescue’s dashboard. The first list is What needs doing: an animal with no foster, one that has never been assessed, a microchip that isn’t on the register yet, or a question from a foster still waiting for an answer.
Tap any line and you’re on that animal. Fix the thing, and the line comes off the list. Underneath, What changed shows the latest edits across the whole rescue, with who made each one and when.
ANIMAL RECORDS
One record for every animal
The Details tab holds the animal’s status, its foster, identity, how it came in, desexing and microchip, and a running set of notes.
Vet visits and assessments go on the Events tab, so what the vet did stays with the date and the clinic.
Vet visit · Bream Bay Vets — Desexed · Microchipped · Flea treatment. “Ear-tipped at the same visit. Awake and eating by mid-afternoon.”
STAGES
Where each animal is, and how long it’s been there
Every animal moves through your rescue’s stages. The Stages tab lays them out in order, with the date of each move and the days spent at each step.
Rehoming and colony care each have their own path. Colony care is the short one, for cats that are trapped, desexed and put back where they were found.
Rehoming
Intake → In care → Fostered → Adopted
Colony care
Intake → At the vet → Returned to origin
LITTERS AND COLONIES
Litters and colonies, kept together
A litter is entered once, with its species, the date it came in and why. Each pup or kitten still has its own record, and a note can go on the whole litter at once.
“Vet: worms and a mild skin infection across the litter. Whole litter dewormed and started on treatment, all eating well.”

A colony records where it is, who looks after it, roughly how many animals live there and how many are on record.
“Feeding station under the macrocarpa. Hine counts them at dusk on a Saturday.”

TO DO
Questions that get an answer
Every record has a To do tab for tasks and questions. A foster can ask something straight from their phone.
The question shows how many days it has been waiting, and it sits on the dashboard until a coordinator replies and marks it resolved.
PEOPLE AND HISTORY
Everyone in one list, and every change written down
People holds your fosters, colony caregivers, trappers, vets, adopters and finders. Each person’s role decides what they can do: coordinators look after the records, and a foster can add notes, tasks, vet visits and assessments.
Every record has a History tab. It shows what changed, what it said before, who changed it and when.
EQUIPMENT (Under development)
Traps and other equipment
Each rescue keeps its own types of equipment. Record who has which item and when it’s due back. Fostify emails the borrower a reminder
Someone borrowing a trap sees just the items they hold.
REPORT
Numbers for the whole rescue
The report shows how many animals came into care, how many left, how many are in care now and how many were desexed, for the past month, three months or year.

WHY FOSTIFY?
We know a new system is one more thing to learn.
Here’s why we think it’s worth it.

Every animal’s story stays together
An animal might go from a finder to a foster, to the vet, and on to a new home. Its story goes with it. Notes, vet visits, assessments and questions all stay on one record, so whoever picks it up next starts from everything already known.
Your work becomes evidence
Every rescue’s records add up to a national picture of companion animal rescue in New Zealand:
how many animals come into care, and why
which regions they come from
how many are desexed, adopted, or go back home
It builds a bigger network
